*THE HALLWAY ON THE TOP PROVIDES LIGHT FROM BOTH WALL MOUNTED FIXTURES AND CHANDELIERS. THE CHANDELIERS ARE LOCATED ON THE CEILING. THE LIGHTING EFFECTS ARE VERY SIMILAR TO THE OPPOSITE HALLWAY. I FEEL ON THIS SIDE OF THE HALL THERE SHOULD BE MORE OF A WALL WASH OF LIGHT ON THE WALLS RATHER THAN THE CEILING, WHICH WOULD PROVIDE LESS SHADE.
* THE HALLWAY ON THE BOTTOM PROVIDES LIGHT FROM WALL MOUNTED FIXTURES. THE LIGHT IS TURNED IN AN INDIRECT DIRECTION. THE LAMPS USED PRIMARILY IN BOTH HALLWAYS IS INCANDESCENT. BEING THE HALLWAY IS RATHER DARK THE LIGHT PROVIDES A GLOW ACROSS THE CEILING AND FLOOR. I FEEL LIKE THE SPACE IS IN A COMFORTABLE SETTING BUT IF THE WALL COLOR WAS SLIGHTLY LIGHTER IT WOULDN'T FEEL SO DARK. THE LIGHT PATTERNS AND SHADOW REFLECT ON BOTH THE FLOOR AND CEILING. IF THE FLOORING WAS CARPET THERE WOULD BE LESS GLARE AND SHADOW.
